What is an earmold?

Everyone's ears are different. An earmold is a specially molded piece of material (usually lucite or vinyl) that is attached to a hearing aid to conduct sound into the ear. Custom earmolds designed specially for each wearer ensures the best sound quality and comfort.

How are custom earmolds made?
Custom earmolds are made by placing a cotton block in the ear and then filling the ear with a silicone mix that hardens in approximately 10 minutes. The mold is removed from the ear, and this shape is used to make the custom earmold. This mold is then sent to our lab where we create the custom earmold based on the specifications desired.
